So, you want to marry your friend. And you want to learn how to become a celebrant. Seems easy, right?
It’s the age-old question; who would win out of a fight out of My Celebrant Buddy and a Certificate IV in Celebrancy.
Certificate IV in Celebrancy
Step 1 – Complete a Certificate IV in Celebrancy offered by a Registered Training Organisation, such as TAFE. This course ranges from $900 to $1500.
Step 2 – After completing your marriage celebrant course, submit an online application to the appropriate Australian Government department along with a $600 application fee.
Step 3 – Next, you will be asked to successfully answer a set of legal questions regarding the laws and processes regarding marriage.
Step 4 – You will then be assessed by the Registrar of Marriage Celebrants as to whether you are a ‘fit and proper person’ to conduct ceremonies.
Step 5 – If your application is successful, you must pay an annual registration fee of $240.
Step 6 – To maintain your status as a registered marriage celebrant you will also need to meet a range of professional development benchmarks each year.

Step 1 – Pick who you want to be your Celebrant!
Step 2 – Choose your legal package:
OPTION A) Legal paperwork is completed the week prior to your ceremony
OPTION B) - Legal paperwork is completed either before or after your ceremony (VIC Only)
OPTION C) - Legal paperwork is completed during your ceremony.
Step 3 – A series of lessons will be sent to your ‘Celebrant Buddy’ covering everything they need to create an amazing ceremony, including script examples, templates, music advice, positioning etc. Plus, it’s brought to them via an easy-to-use and platform.
Step 4 – Get married!
